ISVC05 will take place at Harrah's in the beatiful Lake Tahoe which provides easy access from either Reno/Lake Tahoe International Airport (55 miles, 1hr and 15 min drive) or from Sacramento International Airport (157 miles, 2hrs and 55 min drive). The beauty of the Sierra Nevada and this wonderful lake make Harrah's Lake Tahoe the destination of choice. Located at 6,200 feet above sea level, magnificent Lake Tahoe is a paradise for outdoor lovers.

Harrah's Lake Tahoe offers a full-service casino, nightly entertainment, shopping, six sensational restaurants, a glass covered indoor pool, complimentary health club, a state-of-the-art video arcade, along with a host of other outstanding resort amenities.

      

 Harrah's 18 story, 525 room hotel reflects the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe, its sculptured, forest-colored exterior blending with the surrounding mountain peaks. Every guestroom in this award-winning hotel has been designed with the ultimate in comfort in mind. Each standard guest room is deluxe-sized with over 500 sq. feet of space, that includes two complete bathrooms with a king or two double beds.

Harrah's has a long history of hosting outstanding entertainment including comedy at The Improv and other live entertainment.


Rates

We have been offered some very competitive room rates at Harrah's and at Harveys (which is owned by Harrah's and it is located just next to Harrah's). We have reserved a block of rooms at each hotel from 12/4 to 12/7 at the following rates (subject to 10% tax):
  • Harrah's $79/night (deluxe room, single of double occupancy)
  • Harveys $69/night(deluxe room, Lake Tower, single of double occupancy)
  • Harveys $49/night(deluxe room, Mountain Tower, single of double occupancy)
Rooms at Harrah's are larger (about 500 sq ft), have 2 full size baths, and have been remodeled recently (may or may not have lake views though – you should ask them). Rooms at Harveys are nice too but are smaller (about 360 sq ft), and have one full size bath. Rooms in the Lake Tower at Harveys have some lake views while rooms in the Mountain Tower have mountain views.

To make a reservation, call the hotel toll-free (1-800-455-4770) and mention Group Name: ISVC05 and Group Code: S12CVT. Note that you will not be able to get the special rates unless you mention the Group Name and Group Code. Alternatively, you can fax to them the reservation form (click here to download it) which already includes the Group Name and Group Code.

The cut-off date for reservations is on 11/6/2005. Please, make your reservations as soon as possible since Harrah's/Harveys cannot guarantee the special rates after the cut-off date ! Please note that they will charge your credit card for the first night at the time of the reservation.

Harrah's has also offered us special pre- and post-conference rates, for those of you who wish to stay longer in Lake Tahoe. At Harrah's, the rates are $79/night for Sunday-Thursday, and $119/night for Friday-Saturday. At Harveys, the rates at the Mountain Tower are $49/night for Sunday-Thursday, $89/night for Friday-Saturday, and the rates at the Lake Tower are $69/night for Sunday-Thursday, and $109/night for Friday-Saturday.


Directions to Harrah's - Lake Tahoe

From Sacramento (157 miles, 2hrs and 55 min): Take US 50 east directly to Harrah's front door (and their valet parking), or take I-80 to Truckee, then California 267 south to King's Beach on Tahoe's North Shore. Turn east on California 28, which becomes Nevada 28 at the state line. Continue around the lake through Crystal Bay and Incline Village, past Nevada's Lake Tahoe State Park, to the intersection with US 50. Turn right and continue past Glenbrook and Zephyr Cove to Harrah's.

From Reno/Tahoe International Airport (55 miles, 1hr and 15 min): Drive south on US 395, 33 miles to Carson City. On the far south side of Carson City, take the US 50 turnoff west to Lake Tahoe. Go another 22 miles to the California state line.

Airport Shuttle Service : The South Tahoe Express provides shuttle service between the Reno Tahoe International Airport and all South Lake Tahoe Casino Resort Hotels. There are 14 daily departures each way. Tel: (775) 325-8944 or (866) 89-TAHOE. Approximately $38/adult for round trip, $21/adult one way, $20/child round trip, $11/child one way.
